Run, HIS! | Through Every Step, We Connected the World
Recently, teachers and students from Hailiang International School did something truly amazing.
Through a campus mini-marathon, we turned the vision of“Embrace China, Embrace the World” from a concept into reality.

No Winners, Only Relay
This is never a speed race. There are no champions, no timers—only one core spirit: relay.
All teachers and students ran along the Education Park loop for a special National Flag Relay. At every relay checkpoint, a flag bearer stood guard, holding high the flag of a nation.
As the running team arrived, the flag was passed on, and the bearer led everyone forward together.

Starting from China, we ran step by step toward the world.
Flags on Faces, the World in Hands
At the starting line, everyone wore national flag stickers and face paint. Some painted the Chinese national flag, while others drew symbols of their home countries. Everyone waved flags from all corners of the globe—China, Italy, South Korea, Thailand, and more.

At this moment, there is no division of“where you are from”on the HIS campus, only the harmony of “we run as one”.
Flag Bearers & Volunteers: Everyone Is the Protagonist
Flag bearers were selected from voluntary sign-ups across the school, representing both teachers and students. Standing solemnly at their checkpoints, they took over the flags with dignity, and the running team followed naturally. It was a silent bond of trust and a collective sense of ceremony.

Those who could not run also took part fully as volunteers—offering water at supply stations, guiding the way at corners, and cheering for every finisher at the finish line.
Everyone joined in, and no one was left behind.

One Medal, One World
Every participant received a custom finisher’s medal after the run. Small in size yet meaningful in weight, it stands for a starting journey rooted in China and countless moments of connecting with the world.

Many took photos with national flags at the check-in spot, wearing their medals proudly and saying to teachers with a smile: “This is the most meaningful run I’ve ever had.”

From Hailiang Education Park to the Wider World
This mini-marathon may not have broken any records, but it has created a unique language belonging to HIS:
- Embrace China — We take root here, embracing the culture and spirit of this land.
- Embrace the World — We embrace diversity with every step and connect through every flag.

2026 HIS 3rd Campus “Embrace China, Embrace the World” Mini Marathon
As the last team crossed the finish line and all flags shone brightly in the sunshine, we realized:
The world is not far away. It lies in every step we take, running side by side.
We’ll run again next year!
