Parents’ Open Day: All for Love & Warm Support
May in Hailiang Education Park brings warm sunshine and gentle breezes.
Coinciding with Mother’s Day, we held a special Parent Open Day to invite parents to step onto campus and experience a real day in their children’s lives.

This was not a routine “report performance”, but a warm gathering about growth, gratitude and partnership. There was only one theme: Love and Support.
A Warm Gathering
Warmth flowed quietly starting from the check-in area. Teachers got ready early to welcome every parent.

A warm-up video played repeatedly on the big screen—the grand school promotion video, joyful moments of class activities, and every bit of the children’s growth… Scene after scene allowed parents to see a more vivid and three-dimensional HIS beyond the classroom.

The elaborately arranged achievement exhibitions in each class were particularly eye-catching: class photo walls, students’ artworks, excellent term homework… Every detail was the epitome of the children’s efforts and a witness to the teachers’ careful documentation.

Principal’s Address
Principal Wade stepped onto the podium, recounting the school’s changes over the past semester with groups of data and stories:
- The curriculum has been continuously optimized, providing children with richer learning choices.
- Campus facilities have been upgraded, making the learning and living environment more comfortable.
- Inter-school cooperation has been expanded, creating a broader communication platform.
- Impressive admission results have helped more children open the door to their dreams.

“But what makes us most proud is not these numbers and achievements, but that every child is seen, supported and encouraged to become a better version of themselves here.”
Off the stage, parents nodded repeatedly and applauded continuously.
Foreign teacher representatives Ms. Nadia and Mr. Larnelle delivered speeches one after another. They both mentioned the same key word: companionship.

(Nadia)

(Larnelle)
“When they first came to HIS, some children were not fluent in English and dared not speak up. But a few weeks later, they began to raise their hands in class and take the initiative to chat with me. That process of building trust is the happiest moment for me as a teacher.”
“Every child has their own pace. What we need to do is not urge them to run fast, but walk steadily with them every step of the way.”
Their sincere sharing let parents see the educational details of understanding, patience and love beyond the classroom.
Students Speak
Student representatives Aryan and Fayona stepped onto the stage in turn, sincerely sharing their growth journey at HIS.
Aryan

Aryan admitted that when he first entered school, he not only faced academic challenges, but also felt confused because he could hardly integrate into the group. With the patient company and careful guidance of teachers, he overcame difficulties and broke through himself. Now he has excellent academic performance, actively takes on work in clubs and student organizations, and keeps growing through responsibility and cooperation.“I never knew learning could be so joyful.”
Fayona

Fayona shared that when she first arrived at the school, she was full of unease due to post-surgery recovery, dietary needs and her introverted personality. The warmth and inclusiveness given by the school helped her grow from a shy new student who dared not speak up to class president, vice president of the Student Council, and president of the Diversity and Inclusion Club, gaining courage and strength through service and inclusiveness.“HIS has taught me that the world is big, but our roots can grow deep.”
The children’s sincere and simple words deeply touched the parents present, and many of them had red eyes.
Songs and Family Letters
“You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains…”
As the familiar melody played, student representatives stepped onto the stage to confess to all the mothers off the stage with the song You Raise Me Up.

The singing was clear and sincere, and many parents quietly teared up. What was even more touching was the “letter reading session”. Homeroom teachers asked the children to write down what they wanted to say to their mothers in advance, and randomly selected several students to share on stage. Those “thank you” and “I love you” that were never spoken out on weekdays were spread out on the paper one by one.

“Mom, thank you for always encouraging me and believing in me.”
“Mom, every time I face setbacks and lose confidence in myself, you always comfort me patiently and give me strength. You make me believe that I am always worthy of love.”

“Mom, I love you. Happy Mother’s Day.”
There were no gorgeous words in the letters, but many people quietly wiped away tears.

A girl choked up halfway through reading, and warm applause broke out under the stage. A special Mother’s Day video was also played on site—on camera, the children spoke out their blessings to their mothers. Simple words were the most precious gifts.
This is the education HIS wants to convey: beyond knowledge, children should learn to love and be loved, learn to see efforts and know how to express gratitude.

Love and Support the Answer
We know this is not just the end of a parent open day, but the beginning of a new chapter in home-school co-education.
At HIS, we always believe:

Education is not a one-way street, but a journey where families and schools walk side by side.
Every child’s growth cannot be separated from the support of love and care.
Today, we have seen the children’s confidence and radiance.
Today, we have also heard the heartfelt touching and recognition from parents.

The road ahead is still long.
But as long as we hold hands and connect hearts,
We will surely raise up every unique life.
At HIS, love and support never end.
