HIS offers two main curriculum pathways: a Chinese-medium pathway and an English-medium pathway.

The Chinese-medium pathway is designed for students who want to strengthen their Chinese proficiency and pursue higher education in China. It is suitable for foreign students, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese students with different levels of Chinese ability.

The English-medium pathway is based on the Cambridge curriculum and leads to IGCSE and A-Level qualifications. It is designed for students who plan to apply to universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, the UK, the US, Australia, Singapore, and other international destinations.

HIS places students into the most suitable pathway based on their language level, academic foundation, and university goals.

HIS follows a personalized placement approach. Students are placed according to their Chinese and English proficiency, previous academic background, learning ability, and future study plans.

For example, students with stronger Chinese skills and a clear goal of applying to top Chinese universities may enter a Chinese-medium academic pathway, while students aiming for global university applications may choose the Cambridge route. Students who need additional language support can also begin in a more suitable level and progress step by step.

This flexible system allows HIS to provide leveled teaching, modular subject choices, and individualized learning pathways.
