More Than a Conference a Lesson in Growth

Through this MUN experience, students not only deepened their understanding of international affairs through topic discussion but also gained genuine and valuable growth in the process:

• Delving into Topics, Firming Stances

From reading background guides to researching national positions, they learned to grasp the core amidst complex information and articulate their “country’s” voice clearly on the international stage.

• Speaking Up Bravely, Rejecting Spectatorship

They proactively raised their hands to respond, actively participated in discussions, eagerly initiated motions, and honed their confidence and expressive skills within the immersive simulated diplomatic arena.

• Role Immersion, Stance Steadfastness

Even when assigned countries they did not personally favor, they consciously set aside personal preferences, fully immersed themselves in their roles, and consistently defended the core interests of the nations they represented, avoiding blind conformity, wavering, or unprincipled compromise.

• Communication and Collaboration, Creating Shared Success

In consultations and negotiations, they learned to listen, understand, persuade, and cooperate, finding common ground amidst differences to maximize the interests of multiple parties.

At the same time, within this multicultural and multilingual environment, students are continuously engaged in Chinese language learning, gaining the ability to communicate across cultures and further strengthening their role as globally minded participants in dialogue and cooperation.

Looking Forward to the Next Time

A World Brought Closer by Youth

The MUN sessions have temporarily concluded, but the youth’s concern for the world, their desire for dialogue, and their belief in collaboration have taken root here. What HIS students demonstrated in this activity was not only linguistic and critical thinking ability but also a world-oriented mindset and a sense of responsibility they dared to embrace.

We believe

that every speech, every document,

and every handshake

quietly shapes more open, inclusive,

and thoughtful future citizens.

Next year, we will meet again at MUN
